Printed shrink sleeving labels are a great way to add high impact color messages to your container. In many cases the only way to economically label custom containers with aggressive contours is with a sleeve labeling system. Labels come in a variety of plastic types such as PET, PLA, PVC, and OPS. No other labeling method provides a wider range of colors, details, and application options as a Shrink Sleeve Label.

A sleeving machine shoots heat shrinkable plastic sleeves over bottles as they pass by on a conveyor. The sleeves are supplied as lay flats on reels, printed with label information. The fascinating part of a sleeving machine is how it opens the lay flat into a cylinder and then cuts the labels to the correct length at high speed.
Shrink labeling is a two-step process. First, a heat shrinkable plastic sleeve is dropped over a bottle as it moves by on a conveyor. Second, the sleeved bottle is conveyed through a heat tunnel that shrinks the label to a snug wrinkle free fit. A shrink tunnel must subject the bottle to the correct amount of heat for the right length of time. Shrink labeling systems can achieve speeds in the range of 300 bottles per minute depending on the sleeving machine model purchased.
Sleeving Machine Models
Labelette, an Accutek company, offers a series of sleevers. SL1-xxx series sleever model numbers relate to the maximum lay flat width that can be handled. An SL1-100 handles lay flats up to 100 mm in width. The largest SL1 series lay flat possible is 350 mm. The SL1 series sleeving machines can sleeve up to 120 containers a minute.
The SL2 series sleevers are built on a beefier frame than the SL1 allowing a maximum possible speed of 300 containers a minute. The largest SL2 series lay flat possible is 300 mm. When paired with a Phase Fire G1 heat tunnel with six heat zones, the combination forms a fast and efficient labeling system.
Tamper Evident Seal Sleever
Shrink sleeving is also used to form a tamper evident seal that shrinks over the top of the cap and the upper portion of the container. It is called a tamper evident seal because the container cannot be opened without destroying the seal.
The AccuSleever places heat shrinkable tamper evident bands on containers. Containers move through the AccuSleever on a conveyor at rates up to 65 containers per minute. With an adjustable C-frame, the touch screen controlled AccuSleever can be integrated into an existing production in response to changing market requirements with ease. The AccuSleever is a fast and affordable tool providing a dimension of safety for your consumer products with a minimum of engineering effort. An AccuSleever is the perfect choice for low to medium volume production lines. Coupled with a Phase Fire G7 heat tunnel the AccuSleever is an attractive tamper evident banding solution.
Full body sleeve labels can also be used as tamper evident seals complete with perforations for easy removal.
