Tube Sealers

Accutek tube fillers and sealers handle products ranging from crazy glue to toothpaste that deliver a product to consumers in plastic or metal tubes. Capped, empty tubes are loaded into a filling machine with their other end open, ready for filling. The tube filler sealer pumps a measured dose of product into the tube and then seals the tube. A lot number or expiration date could be embossed in the seal if that option was purchased. Metal tubes are sealed by folding and then crimping the end of the tube, whereas thermoplastic tubes are heat sealed and then embossed.

The Company

Accutek is the leading supplier of packaging equipment and machines in the world. With our state-of-the-art machine designs, we meet our customer’s needs for complete inline or rotary tube filling systems. We have been serving the packaging industry for three decades and have gained an amazing amount of expertise in packaging machine design and manufacture. The goal is to deliver a precise amount of product to the consumer in an attractive container that promotes your offering over the competition.

Many years ago, packaging machines were not nearly as flexible as they are today. Timing and control were accomplished mechanically, with a minimum of electronic circuitry. Accutek was an industry leader in the transition to programmable electronics operating pneumatic actuators. Current technology is again evolving from pneumatic to servo or stepper motor actuators. Once again, Accutek is at the forefront of this evolution. Our goal is to be a leader in providing our customers with the fastest and most accurate packaging solutions.

Handling Plastic and Metal Tubes

You supply the caped and labeled tubes, cases, and product. The Accutek team will produce a packaging solution that will meet your requirements. The sequence of operations begins with container preparation. This involves organizing and placing the tubes in a bin for loading into the rotary filling/sealing machine.

There are several filler technologies available, and each one works best for a specific range of liquid viscosities. The standard rotary tube filler sealer uses a piston filler mechanism that works well with light gels, creams, and pastes.

Viscosity

The first step in identifying a liquid filling solution that matches your needs is understanding your product’s characteristics. Recognizing if your product has water-like low viscosity or higher viscosity like toothpaste. This will assist you in determining equipment solutions. Product viscosity affects several areas, your type of metering system, your fill rate, and a few other variables within the production equation. Identifying product viscosity is a necessary step in the process. It determines if a tube is the right container for your project.

Fill Rate

It should come as no surprise that one of the more significant questions from the production side of things is, “how many bottles can I fill per production shift?” Is the best answer a single handheld, semi-automatic machine, an intermediate, full line automatic solution, or an automated rotary system? Fill rate is influenced by product viscosity, tube type, and fill volume.

Fill Volume

Knowing your specific fill volume sounds easy enough. However, it is essential when determining other related factors like fill rate, product viscosity, and metering systems. You may have different fill accuracy requirements depending on your industry that you need to follow to remain compliant with specific industry standards. Therefore, having a solid grasp of your required fill volumes and your industry requirements are crucial to your overall production success.

Accutek sales engineers are packaging experts, eager to assist you in designing a turnkey packaging line. Our company offers simple semi-automated machines for startup companies, as well as fully automated complete packaging lines for mature companies.
